Rob is back again with another Sunday happy hour cocktail. This time it’s all about a classic fruit combo to make a fresh new marg variation. Strawberry and kiwi are a pretty natural flavor combo; I mean who didn’t grow up drinking some juice drink with that combo?

I like that Rob kept a good lime base so that the cocktail wouldn’t end up too sweet. If you have looked at any of the other cocktail posts on the blog, you know I prefer tart to sweet. The overall flavor was really great, slightly sweet and reminiscent of those classic childhood drinks.

For margs, I almost always prefer them on the rocks. I don’t know what it is but the frozen, slushy like ones always just seem to go right to my head. Whether is the colder temperature or the sugariness, I always feel a lot worse after drinking one. Plus there is just something much more authentic feeling about a rocks marg.

That said this could easily be made as a frozen marg, just throw the fruit in with the ice in the blender instead fo muddling it. You will probably want to up the fruit and lime juice content a bit though, since it will be a bit watered down.
