Easy Trader Joe’s Frozen Gnocchi with Chard

Something I have been really trying to make a part of my recipe brainstorming is starting with a Trader Joe’s frozen item (another option here). They create so many great entree and side options that can serve as a solid base for experimentation. So enter the Trader Joe’s Frozen Cauliflower Gnocchi. Trader Joe’s probably has 3-4 frozen gnocchi options at any given time, but the cauliflower one seems to be a staple. Trader Joe’s Gorgonzola Gnocchi Pasta

So, I will admit that I don’t shop at Trader Joe’s that often. For whatever reason, that seems rare for my generation. This is not because I don’t like TJ’s; honestly I actually always find really good things there. It’s actually often a good place to consistently find some odd ingredients. It’s really just out of inconvenience. Its a bit of a hike; I have to drive past at least 3 other grocery stores to get there (not counting the Whole Foods I live above). We have made a lot of our go-tos and remade a few others that we haven’t made in a while. But the other night, we tried something new that was inspired by our trip to California: Instant Pot Tri-Tip Ragu. Tri-tip is effectively the official cut of meat for California that is rare on the east coast. Its a cut out of the bottom sirloin of the cow, which means its pretty lean…

    Beef and Broccoli Rice Bowl

This Beef and Broccoli recipe was effectively an accident based on a seeming random assortment of groceries we bought at Trader Joe’s. We were planning to have something else for dinner that didn’t really work out. Thanks to Rob picking up a few ingredients, that I initially questioned, I ended up creating one of the best Asian-inspired meals I have made. Also a first for us, we used our new Instant Pot as a rice cooker and it worked out PERFECTLY. The rice was sticky and perfectly soft.  Plus, it completely eliminated the problem we sometimes have stovetop of getting that hot spot on the bottom. So to the backstory…
